Inspired by Lorca's classic play The House of Bernarda Alba, six contemporary women find themselves confined—not by the strict codes of social conduct of the early 1900s, but instead by house arrest, physical ailments, trauma, cultural oppression, and a system stacked against them. They seek solace in creating a new kind of family.
